About the role 

Your role as the Training and Recruitment Manager for our North & West Yorkshire depots, is critical in ensuring we provide a positive recruitment experience and high-quality training, for all new employees coming through our doors.  

You will manage the full recruitment journey, from interviewing and assessment days, to onboarding and organising their onward training. It is important that you engage and build strong relationships with all new employees, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported in their new role.  

It is a fast-paced environment of high-volume recruitment, so we need you to be pro-active, organised and efficient in managing all aspects of recruitment and training, including; managing budgets, achieving agreed induction headcounts and updating training and recruitment processes. 

What will you be doing? 

  • Leading the Operating Company Training team to consistently deliver high quality training in line with a divisional framework and local guidelines 
  • Working with local managers to ensure that teams are competently trained, and to achieve agreed establishment requirements 
  • Working in collaboration with the central resourcing team to onboard quickly and professionally, offering the candidates the best experience 
  • Supporting the Operating Company Leadership Team to develop engaged, talented and high performing teams 
  • Ensuring that effective processes are in place to effectively induct new employees 
  • Preparing and presenting management information and reports 
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the company to develop and share best practice in training and recruitment 
  • Maintaining accurate records for all aspects of training and recruitment standards and performance  

What are we looking for?  

  • Experience of managing a team with the ability to keep them engaged and motivated 
  • Ideally, experience in driving recruitment where you have been responsible for sourcing, attracting and hiring candidates for a range of roles within the business  
  • Ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers and work well as a team  
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment 
  • Pro-active and positive attitude 
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Packages 
  • Ability to lead a team to a set of KPI's, assessing data and ensuring the team meet the targets and deadlines
