We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Director to join our team in Wales!
Wales offers an outdoors lifestyle, with all the amenities and attractions of being close to large metropolitan cities. You can enjoy city life, rural adventures, and stunning coastline. There are over 150 beaches in Wales and with 26% of the country a national park or area of outstanding beauty, Wales is literally one of the most stunning places in the UK.
Wales is famous for being a sporting location, with locals and visitors enjoying rugby, mountain biking, hiking, mountaineering, and surfing across the country. For the adventure seekers, nothing can beat a hike to the top of Mt. Snowdon's icy peaks.
Wales also benefits from a much lower cost of living than the UK average, so you can be sure of more expendable income with which to explore. The 3.2 million strong population is dispersed between highly populated and lively cities and towns, and the quiet rural towns and villages.
With its own language and national holidays, there is a unique and separate identity in Wales compared to the rest of the UK. For those moving to the country, the sense of national pride, and warm culture make a move to Wales so rewarding.
First Cymru's headquarters is based in Swansea, Wales' second most populated city and county. Swansea is fast becoming one of the most popular places to live in the UK. The waterfront location is a vibrant and desirable modern city: offering a great urban lifestyle alongside beautiful coastline and beaches.
The city is experiencing a period of development and a resurgence of new business and investment. A conscious effort to encourage entrepreneurial spirit and pioneering industry to flourish in Swansea has given the city a new lease of life and made it a very attractive place to move to.
Swansea has good travel links: by road you can get from Swansea to London via the M4, and around Wales on the A48. It's an easy drive between Swansea and the Welsh capital of Cardiff. The city also has good rail links from Swansea Railway Station, with regular trains to Cardiff, Newport, and London. For international and domestic flights, Cardiff Airport is just 44 miles from Swansea.
We are looking for an Engineering Director who can join our small team and be part of a great community delivering bus journeys to our customers across South and West Wales. With 6 depots there is a great opportunity to make a real difference.
As an experienced Engineer from a multi-site environment, you will be expected to lead engineering compliance and ensure we operate within our legal obligations. A large part of the role is leading and mentoring the Engineering Teams and developing a positive culture and a desire for people to develop. We take employee engagement seriously and this will be an important part of the role.
If you think the lifestyle of Wales and working for a great company is for you then please contact Jane.email@example.com to arrange an informal chat.
