Shorts and Overs Administrator

We are looking for an Administrator to join The Shorts and Overs Team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

The Shorts and Overs Team are responsible for reconciling all driver on board takings.  You will be responsible for counting and calculating the drivers takings and investigating any differences.

You will be liaising with employees, depots and the payroll department on a regular basis, so you will need great communication skills. You will be in charge of your own depot's takings, so will be confident working on your own initiative, whilst also being a part of a strong team.

You will be working as part of our Cash Collections team, reporting to the Cash Collections Team Leader, within our Financial Operations department. Financial Operations focuses on delivering high-quality, efficient, and centralised services to the division. Our core purpose is to enable First Bus to perform at its best, embrace change, innovate and grow. 

We are based in an ideal location, right behind Leeds Train Station, in our prestigious office, but you will have the flexibility to work three days in the office and two days at home.

What will you be doing?

  • Accountable for maintaining accurate driver on board taking
  • Ensure all annul tickets are manually entered
  • Update payroll with anomalies
  • Escalate all queries beyond your technical competence and/or authority limit to your designated point of referral.
  • Maintain responsibility for a diary system and ensure it is used appropriately and consistently.
  • Providing high level of customer service to our customers both verbal and written
  • Contribute to discussions on improving practice and procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience of working in an administration role in the finance industry is preferred but not essential
  • Minimum Grade C in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal, with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrable ability to listen, empathise and engage with key stakeholders and customers
  • Experience of implementing, following and documenting processes
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise own and team workloads
  • Team player with the ability to work well on own initiative.
  • IT literate including MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook), case management systems
