Group Environment Manager

Due to changes within the Group Corporate Responsibility team, we have available an exciting role of Group Environment Manager.

The Group Environment Manager will work alongside the Group Director of Corporate Responsibility and Group Head of Corporate Responsibility to deliver FirstGroup's Corporate Responsibility objectives and will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of environmental management that have been achieved by the Company to date, including ISO certified management systems and high ratings in sustainability leadership indices such as the Carbon Disclosure Project and Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

This role will be instrumental in contributing to our Group-wide sustainability framework, Mobility Beyond Today, and drive its UK-wide implementation in terms of environmental priorities. You will work with our divisions to identify the necessary environmental skills, resources, systems of evaluation, monitoring and governance, and will be confident in driving change in a complex business environment. Your duties will include maintaining a robust framework of environmental policy, performance targets and reporting for the Group, horizon-scanning and identifying opportunities for innovation which can be applied from outside our sector, driving sustainability across our supply chain and evolving our approach to Biodiversity. You will lead the monitoring, reporting, and benchmarking of the Group's environmental performance, whilst continually assessing opportunities for improvement and leading on the implementation of a new data management system.

It is essential you have experience of managing compliance with UK regulatory requirements, including corporate reporting of GHG emissions, as well as experience of setting and implementing science-based carbon reduction targets.

This role is based at the Corporate Centre at The Point, London and there will be a requirement to attend meetings there when necessary, and to work there on a hybrid basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to work at the heart of FirstGroup.
