Senior Internal Auditor

We now have a vacancy in our Group Internal Audit team for a home-based Senior Internal Auditor. This is a key role, and as such you will enjoy a significant degree of autonomy. You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, delivery and reporting of risk-based audits, with a focus on our First Bus division, occasional audits within our Group Functions, or alongside the First Rail division audit team. You should be comfortable communicating with all levels of employees within a business, including senior management, and be able to show how you have built good, productive working relationships. In this role you will contribute to the identification and assessment of company risks, and you must be proficient at writing high quality reports, with a strong attention to detail. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit and Risk Management and will support with ad hoc projects and fraud investigation work and be actively involved in the creation of the annual Internal Audit Plan. This role is part of a highly visible team within the Group corporate centre, has significant exposure to senior management and the Group Executive, and will require you to quickly gain the confidence of senior stakeholders.

As this is a home-based role, with a UK-wide remit, you can expect to travel up to 40% of the time, with periodic travel to our corporate centre in London. There is a significant degree of flexibility available to accommodate travel arrangements and provide an appropriate work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years internal audit experience and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of risk-based auditing and control processes. They will also have a recognised accounting (CCAB) or Chartered IIA qualification (CIA and/or CMIIA).
