About the job
The purpose of the role is to proactively explore fraud related revenue risks to GWR through the effective analysis of data. The role holder will use a variety of data sources to identify fraud related problems on our network, and to highlight both individual customers who are committing fraud against us, and areas which suggest fraud may be prevalent. • Use data to find fraudulent travel by individuals which can be developed into a subject profile
• Identify routes, locations and processes which are at risk from fraudulent activity
• Highlight and quantify the weaknesses in current processes
• Produce and own ‘Problem Profiles' which detail the findings of the analysis and the recommendations to the business
• Evidence the revenue recovered or generated because of the recommendations made
You'll need to be:
• Able to work competently with minimal supervision
• Used to working under pressure and to deadlines
• Experienced in drawing out relevant information from a variety of sources
• Proactive and able to use your own initiative
• Able to produce high quality analytical products
What do I need?
• An awareness of Fraud Act offence definitions
• Experience of managing a varied workload and prioritising tasks
• An understanding of responsibilities relating to data protection and GDPR
• The ability to communicate your analysis to a non-technical audience
• An awareness of the National Intelligence Model would be an advantage
• Experience using MS Office, in particular Excel.

About the location
This role can be remote, hybrid or on-site depending on how you work best. The team is based in Vastern House, Reading. You need to be able to travel to Reading occasionally and there may be a need to travel to other parts of the GWR network from time to time.

Working pattern
Full time, 37 hours per week. If you need flexibility away from the traditional 9-5 working pattern, we can discuss how this can be accommodated.

Additional information
Our primary data analysis tool is currently Excel, but we are in the process of moving to Power BI. Familiarity with the tool and capabilities of the Power BI Service would be an advantage, but training and development support will be provided.

We would love to meet applicants from diverse backgrounds. You do not need to meet 100% of the requirements to apply; tell us about your strengths and what you could bring to the role.
The Reward:
As well as a great team environment and comprehensive training, all GWR colleagues enjoy a range of benefits including on-going development, defined benefit pension scheme, free rail travel across the GWR network for you and your family, company-sponsored health care plan, discounted shopping and gym membership and an employee assistance programme.
