Management Development Trainer

Salary: up to £45k (depending on skills and experience)

As a Management Development Trainer/Facilitator you'll be supporting our leaders to enhance their capacity and capability to engage, develop and lead their teams through a changing environment to deliver great colleague and customer experiences.  Your role will involve working closely with key stakeholders across the business applying your needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation skills to a wide range of activities including management and leadership development workshops, one-to-one coaching, team development and mentoring.

What you'll be doing?

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Analyse, design, deliver and evaluate development interventions, aligned to the GWR Behavioural Framework, to enhance the capability and confidence of line managers to lead their teams through change and transition
  • Build working relationships to gain a real understanding of expectations of the support required by line managers
  • Encourage managers to take responsibility for their own learning
  • Develop and implement training plans to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of activities

You'll need to be able to:

  • Develop individual and team capability
  • Drive and inspire excellence
  • Focus on delivery of improved performance

As a minimum you'll need to have

  • Experience of workshop design and delivery (face to face and virtual workshops) with a focus on leadership (especially through change and transition) and management skills
  • Experience of team facilitation and one-to-one coaching
  • Excellent, persuasive written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with learning and development processes – needs analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation
  • A proven track record of people management experience
  • A curiosity to keep informed of industry changes and new thinking in leadership development to anticipate emerging trends in people development

About the location?

The role can be based in either Newton Abbot/Bristol/Swindon with a focus on supporting colleagues in the west of the GWR network.  There will also be some travel to London Paddington as needed.

This role is a 37hr week spread over 5 days
