Performance Assistant

We provide regular, cost effective 100% electric train travel between London and Edinburgh, launching our business in October 2021. We are recruiting for a Performance Analyst to work in our Planning and Resource department the primary purpose of the role is to ensure that resources are in place to enable Lumo to operate its advertised or amended timetable service.  To ensure train crew are rostered in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and in line with industry and legal requirements

About the role

•Support the Planning & Development department by attending meetings and retaining familiarity with the possession strategy and performance of the timetable
 
•Assist in undertaking investigations into performance issues
 
•Provide support in attending industry performance groups
 
•Provide advice on performance and timetable issues
 
•Assist in the production of reviews of performance material
 
•Produce a simplifier for hotel bookings and travel tickets for Customer Ambassadors and Customer Drivers
 
•Provide cover for the Planning & Resource Assistant
 
•Provide cover for the Office Manager booking hotels and tickets if required
 
•Provide on call cover
 
•Carry out delay attribution activities on daily basis engaging with any internal or external stakeholders
 
•Assist in the provision of performance data for period reports as instructed
 
•Undertake and attend any operational performance impacting meetings and reviews
 
•Analyse performance data to identify trends and present to the business as required by the Head of Operations.
 
•Operating in a digital space, continuously developing digital and automated solutions
 
•Attend any meetings which are likely to have a performance impact on Lumo service i.e. seasonal management.
 
•Develop and present impactful events to the business in advance. i.e. events, annual predicted weather etc.
 
•Engage on daily basis with external stakeholders such as Network Rail
 
•Negotiate and reduce on a Year-by-Year basis delay charges.
 
 
Job specific knowledge and skills
 
•Knowledge of the relevant systems such as TRUST
 
•Ability to create and present statistical data using appropriate software i.e. Excel / PowerBI (essential)
 
•Knowledge of Delay Attribution Policy and Rules
 
•Knowledge of Lumo operations and interaction with TPE Control
 
•Ability to resolve conflict and influence people at all levels within and outside the company and motivate maximum response
 
•Educated to a good standard
 
•A comprehensive understanding of rostering principles, terms & conditions and roster development
 
•A good understanding of train crew diagramming patterns
 
•A good understanding of fatigue monitoring

•Good communication and motivational skills to engage with all levels of staff

•Be able to demonstrate a good level of computer literacy (especially Word, and Excel)

•A good understanding of the core route, including all diversionary routes
