Leadership and LMS Manager

Main Purpose

The position is responsible for leadership development training delivery and ongoing development of the Learning Management System (LMS). Engagement with Key stakeholders internally and externally is key in this role to ensure there is a strong emphasis on effective development of the leadership team across SWR and the LMS is utilised effectively in order to streamline and modernise effective development and training delivery as well as efficiencies in administration.

Principal Accountabilities

Leadership Development

  • Schedule and deliver leadership training solutions through a blended learning and online solution approach.
  • Be pro-active with stakeholders to ensure leadership development engagement remains high and is utilised appropriately.
  • Work alongside the Leadership Development Manager to help create and implement a comprehensive Leadership on-boarding program.
  • Log training workshops and create training records through the LMS.
  • Apply modern L&D methodology whilst working with the Leadership Development Manager to ensure leadership development across SWR is continuously updated, appropriate and creative with the end user in mind.
  • Create suitable communication to keep the business informed of Leadership Development.
  • Continuously and pro-actively seek to improve the Leadership development programme in order to develop, support and engage our leaders and managers across SWR.

Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Development of the Learning Management System to ensure the system is utilised effectively throughout the business including employee access.
  • Utilise the system capabilities to effectively support SWR with Learning and Development delivery, including self-development, e-learning and competency management.
  • Assist in building and maintaining the relationship with the system provider and management of the ongoing contractual arrangement.
  • Be a leader in forging cross functional relationships and work closely with key stakeholders to influence the delivery and use of the system.
  • Curate and create leadership content for the LMS with the end user in mind, striving for a creative, engaging and impactful outcome.
  • Manage content creation and curation for key stakeholders across the business. Guiding each stakeholder in the latest LMS methods & thinking to achieve the most effective learning outcome.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance of the system.
  • Resource as applicable external e-creation providers and support internal stakeholders in e-creation content.
  • Be the ‘go to' person for all things LMS

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience of working in a fast paced organisation with proven ability to engage and influence Key Stakeholders
  • Proved track record in delivering impactful leadership training
  • Previous LMS experience, Totara is desirable however not essential
  • Practical working knowledge of L&D. CIPD qualified
  • Experience of working in cross-functional teams with a variety of commercial and educational staff
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • A passion for creating great user experiences via an online learning platform & through workshop delivery
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A positive and solution focused attitude
  • Ability to use initiative and proactively manage workloads
  • An analytical and inquisitive mind determined to provide timely and accurate information to key stakeholders
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workload

Working Pattern

Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days. 
Monday - Friday 0900-1700

Please note this is a 1 year fixed-term contract
