Security Administrator

About the job

To provide a high level of administrative support and advice to the Security Management team and Rail Community Office Grade to ensure the teams smooth running and operation.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Produce, maintain and distribute the Rail Community Officer roster.
  • Administration of all security department competency records and documentation.
  • Management of attendance records of RCO's and security team staff.
  • Minute taking at meetings when required.
  • Ordering of stores equipment and uniform for the RCO's.
  • Processing and distribution of the security ID passes for station tenants and contractors.
  • Complete audits at station tenancies on a 6 month frequency to ensure tenant ID passes are compliant with records.
  • Undertaking administration of the external security guarding contract.
  • Filing and office management duties.
  • Assist with the planning of joint operations with other grades and the BTP.
  • Liaise with the RCO team leaders and the grade management to plan and book training.
  • Liaise with the Occupational Health Unit to book appointments.
  • Complete and submit security department KPI's at the end of each period.
  • Additional tasks as specified by the security management team applicable to the role.
  • Prepare and complete purchase orders.
  • Administer the agreed RCO annual leave agreement as part of the roster.
  • Provide support to the Evidence Gathering team if/when required.

You'll need:

  • Resilience and the ability to cope in a pressured environment
  • Very good communication skills
  • Good general standard of education.
  • Good level of numeracy
  • IT literate
  • Good knowledge of the railway environment

About the location:

South Western Railways HQ is based on the 4th Floor at South Bank Central, a stone's throw from the River Thames and a 10 minute walk from our busiest station, Waterloo. It is local to many well-known attractions, restaurants and retail facilities and is easily accessible by public transport. 

Working Pattern:

On average you will work 37 hours per week, typically office hours.
