Project Co-Ordinator – Manchester (with Hybrid working available)

Purpose of job role?
You will be responsible for actively supporting the Programme Manager to oversee the administration needs of projects and programme to support overall governance and effective performance management, ensuring successful delivery across the Major Projects Directorate Portfolio. You will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you'll collaborate with external clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
About the job role?
- Responsible for working within all stages of project management
- Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures
- Organising, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings
- Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
- Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings
- Ensuring project deadlines are met
- Ensuring projects adhere to framework, governance and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
- Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
- Facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members
- Undertaking project tasks as required
- Developing project strategies

Skills Required:
- Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to work on tight deadlines
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
- Proficiency in project management software tools competencies
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent decision-making and organisation
- Detail Oriented and dependable
